The Welk Theatre announces “Winter Wonderettes“

The New ‘60s Christmas Musical! Created and written by Roger Bean

It’s Christmas and the Wonderettes are back! The ladies are entertaining at the Harper’s Hardware Holiday Party. When Santa turns up missing, the girls must use their talent and creative ingenuity, plus some great holiday tunes such as “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Run Rudolph Run,” “Winter Wonderland” and 20 other seasonal favorites, to save their holiday party. The result is, of course, marvelous! This energetic and entertaining show is guaranteed to delight audiences of all ages.

The show is directed and choreographed by San Diego’s Bets Malone. Bets has over a 15-year history with The Marvelous Wonderettes and even longer history with the creator of the franchise, Roger Bean. She originated the role of Suzy in the original workshop production at The Milwaukee Repertory Theatre and journeyed with it all the way to originate the role in the hit Off-Broadway production. Bets also played Suzy in Winter Wonderettes and The Marvelous Wonderettes-Caps and Gowns. She can be heard on all three cast recordings. She now enjoys sharing the Wonder world with new girls and new theaters including the Welk production which features Sarah Errington, Kristen Lamoureux, Rae K. Henderson and Noelle Marion
